Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back [Blu-ray] Specifications

With sidesplitting dialogue and rampant profanity, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reunites Kevin Smith's dynamic duo in supreme lowbrow style. It's the fifth comedy in Smith's celebrated New Jersey "trilogy." Here Quick-Stop potheads Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) wreak vengeance on Hollywood, where Miramax is making a "Bluntman & Chronic" feature inspired by J. and S.B., but without their permission. En route from Jersey to La La Land, Jay and his "hetero life mate" encounter sexy jewel thieves (including the delightful Shannon Elizabeth), a precocious orangutan, a dimwit wildlife marshal (Will Ferrell), and a nonstop parade of in-jokes, harmless (yet controversial) gay jokes, and splendid celebrity cameos. While gently biting the Miramax hand that feeds him, and paying affectionate homage to the Star Wars saga, Smith sheds all inhibitions to give Jay and Silent Bob a stellar sendoff that's nasty, sassy, and undeniably hilarious. --Jeff Shannon

I am officially a fan Kevin Smith now? OK, I was not crazy Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and I have not seen Jersey Girl yet say, but I must say that in general, I have all his other films (like bin Mallrats) and is open to any happy the next and the next Rewatching some of the previous order. Yes, I, a fan of classic Hollywood snobs and French New Wave - I'm a fanboy Kevin Smith. Why? Perhaps because some of Smith's memories of growth, as divided intoHis films remind me of my own, perhaps because Smith himself has resemblance to my best friend at school (consisting of ... New Jersey), perhaps because they were too low to escape the fight me and sometimes makes me feel kind of Smith OK I did not.

OK, that is a bit 'far. But they are without exaggeration, I think this might actually enjoy the film Smith for me, as was Clerks. The cool thing about it to me, having grown up in the '70sand 80 years, is the amount of film sounds like any number Crazy Chase / road movie comedies of the mid 60s to mid 80s or so was - from IT'S A Mad Mad Mad Mad World of a series Disney comedy in The Cannonball Run Movies. Lots of guest stars - George Carlin, Judd Nelson, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Wes Craven, Gus Van Sant, etc, a group of beauties (Eliza Dushku, Ali Larter, Shannon Elizabeth and his wife Jennifer Schwalbach Smith), and alsodamn orangutan. Only the amount a bit 'large-letter words and scatological humor drug store looked very much like a trip back in time 30 or 40 years.

The basic plot, in fact, come from any number of films - our eponymous hero Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (director Smith) only have 3 days to get across the country from New Jersey to California to go to the movie has to stop, unauthorized, its history, as shown in Bluntman andChronic 'comic. Along the road facing the leather clad babes jewel thief above, police officers, a sergeant nature reserve, to folk singers and annoying types of film industry. I tell you to replace Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood for the two to get rid of them, the humor of drugs and cut out his tongue, and this could happen as early as 1977. Or Heck, just use Cheech and Chong and update the current reference.

But do not feel like a rip-off, and most of the timeis rarely recorded as a tribute - Smith is the change between the lines very clearly his childhood great loves (the "Scooby Doo" van of the flight across the moon in ET) and its own brand of vulgar humor, and the different elements without interruption are integrated, which is enough for me, is like a giant parodic revision of the entire "family comedy feel" concept, which is now largely been replaced by high-concept Steve Martin vehicle. I wished for some "Herbie", some of which KurtRussell plays Disney until the end, but I was also fairly steadily from the way in which Smith seems an entire universe that revolves around all those innocent memories and transforms them into something Raunchy - and still somehow manage to be as innocent as a fun strange ways.

Despite the obvious humor, there is no nudity - and there is no real violence, after all, the few people who actually beat the Jay and Bob, well, Freaks internet. And 'as if Smith triedsay, in the end, damn it, why can not we go back for those innocent days, when people do not obsess about every single thing that everyone does through stars and directors. And why directors have to take seriously - one of the great pleasures of Jay and Silent Bob is that all the references and knowing winks, as if it were a disposable society, like Smith, does not matter if you fall and feel really do not think he is doing something special. Jay and Silent are his tools to achieveAbove - at the same time, even more of a buzz around themselves and create the View Askewniverse, Kevin Smith and the God of all.

The DVD is, like all of Smith DVD movie I've seen, absolutely, with extras. Personally, not so much pain and I can understand why most of the scenes by many, in this case were in fact kept from the original version, but the commentary by the director is, as always, entertaining, and the package as a whole is great.Even if you have mixed feelings about Smith - or, as I admit that I only have problems, you're a fan - and would have avoided this film, in my opinion, at least there's a rental. You will be surprised at how particularly if old enough to remember the '70s and particularly the kind of Kevin Smith of love - even though we sometimes deliberately silly - a tribute to some of the films has grown to appreciate.
