"Being There" - What does the title mean? Ilana Douglas (real-life nephew of Melvyn Douglas, whose impeccable presentation of the old law tycoon, won her second Oscar in a long career and deserved) only to remember that all the features "included, said that his" Being There is planned at the moment. The characterization of Peter Sellers' turn to the man known as the gardener Chance, Chauncey Gardener was so strong that type of drugall the others and was a kind of reality on the screen, if you will, "the moment" occurred and that the depth of this film a masterpiece, it is.
I'm not one at odds with this increase. Similarly, it is reasonable, given that their own thoughts on the subject (depending on your point of view), there is perhaps even further back. I discovered that trully are many great works of art of a certain ambiguity about who is beyond all that the author originally wanted.A means that only through the realization of the work itself, a force that exceeds a conceptual inspiration revealed. I think this is the "Being There", which refers Ilana Douglas. When Peter Sellers was "full-on retard", so to say, "full-on Shut-in takes place, the rest of the cast could not help but change their presentation of what is to follow cultural essentially caricatures, and made magic in front of the camera. Can not be denied. However, there is another aspect of"Being There", something that can, in fact, relies more and receive a manifest intent by the author of the book, the film again, because many are willing to get top-tion, usually much more evasive. Follow me, if you find the rabbit hole;
I could not avoid thinking about returning to the old adage, "takes as a fly on the wall." Have you ever seen this term as a reflection on how the business sector and the political structure of ourCountry and the world is really run high? To assemble a fly on the wall in a subtle, intimate moments, getting older Posted in creatures without bloodshed and offers are sent back for action and Atlas shrugs? Of course, we can greatly from many of these moments that those who receive from us through the smoke and mirrors and see the dog and pony tricks, the kind of course our company is authorized to see, and if it is drawn - but listen to the his curmudgeonlyLips! To feel, to recognize public opinion against the tyranny, nor justified, since for the good of the species in the long run! - Perhaps only after being pumped full of another group of fresh blood to keep it in a good mood for the event, the first encounter with the old Ben Rand. "Some call me a kingmaker," but I stayed true to myself, and that is the most important of all, my boy. "
Was not this concept of flight (on the wall, beings without emotions, loves to seeetc., the responsibility) for what this film anyway? One of the most cleverly disguised representations of what life is really high? To live a master of the world, as if life will never end, as if you have the sliders for all, but still powerless against death, if your time has come. To all of them are forced to live in wealth and luxury, while the rest of the world is going (for dogs, as described so vividly, when the gardener's house, leave spent his entire lifeclosed in the first period yet) at the end of drug down into the pit with the rest of us.
Thus we come to see our men (or at least their caricatures) thought that the eyes flashed an eternal voyeur (the fly on the wall), the only one of us "down to earth, to" enough in their sacred walls. In search of a sign and through the Eschalon superior because of his optimism rare and the apparent lack of judgementalism, a feature that tends to infect all hobknobbedthose observed by us, are not enough content to be reconciled to move forward.
What is the matter of the 'common man "' s role in demanding of modern civilization, we are nothing more than voyeurs? Shape our thoughts and manufactured by envoirnment Tedius live in this journey through life, only the great men of their moves on the bridge, while still safely locked up in the regions under control?
How about that are not serious, right? A beautiful, small button eyes, that makes a blind eyeon the back of one-dollar bill looks like a poor imitation. A legacy of a proud, lifelong keeper of the code, a monument, built of stone, finely cut, built to last. Momentous decision makers quickly bring the strategy in a low voice, while the old man to his grave - er, uh ... "buried". The show must go on, grab a lot more runners, and with the elimination of carry forward.
Jack Warden as President! The first time he appears on the screen from a distance, but I recognized hiscraggy features (speaking finely carved!) from that moment, and that fills my heart with joy. What is not a man, right? From "Twelve Angry Men," the "... And Justice For All" has been for things' in Denver When You're Dead, "you can never be disappointed with a performance of old Jack. Or his cousin, Robert Loggia, anyway. (The two are linked somehow, inexplicably, in the caves of me.) System, such as her portrayal of deceased boasted that his doubts and the weight of weakness on him like a ropeThe man on the gallows.
To digest Yes, very much in this strip, over a hearty meal for the sponge to soak in view of the skull again and again, you can marinate your senses.
Other considerations taken from the margins: * The handshake firm and Stiff Upper Lip. * A scarf and his good taste in all things. * The rich are amazing creatures - they can afford. * A real gentleman, a pillar of stregth those who easily give in to temptation and despair. "I like to see ..." Yes, me too.

As you probably know, Blade Runner is a bust of audiences and critics after release in '82, but was discovered on video and was even, is a classic of the 90s. There is no reason why it was not immediately successful, and help the original version with the voice most certainly does not. The pace is a bit 'slow, which affects the real center of the scene of the film. The film also lacks measures that would have a lot of science fiction fans, we waited anxiously to see Harrison Ford in a starFilm, which would substantially Han Solo in a futuristic environment. Bladerunner see better with add-on. You stop the action and begin to realize how fascinating the story. Rutger Hauer indicate something about the best performance, but is still good, and while Ford does a great job, also helps the movie by the main character easy to identify someone. The effects are excellent and holds up well to everything we see today. The effects of creating a great atmospherefeel for the movie, and many scientists, is what is truly like in the future. Blade Runner has a texture much, but there are some plot holes and a lot of mistakes with the film. The climax is where Blade Runner is really well done and is not typical of most thrillers. Let me consider Blade Runner as a great sci fi movie, but only make a good movie overall.

Prison Break - Season 1 [Blu-ray]

Prison Break - Season 1 [Blu-ray] Overview

Fox's Breakout Hit of the 2005-2006 Season!

Most men would do anything to get out of Fox River Penitentiary, but Michael Scofield will do anything to get in. His brother Lincoln has been sentenced to die for a crime he did not commit, and the only way to save him is from the inside out. Armed with prison blueprints and an impossibly intricate escape plan, Michael gets himself incarcerated, and the race against time is on. Now, he'll need all of the cunning, daring, and luck he can musterÂ...along with the assistance of some of the prison's most vile and dangerous felons.

Prison Break - Season 1 [Blu-ray] Specifications

Season one of Prison Break is great television. Here's the set-up. Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is framed and wrongfully convicted for assassinating the Vice President's brother. Lincoln's brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who just happens to have designed Illinois' Fox River Penitentiary where Lincoln is on death row, hatches an elaborate escape plan. Michael's plan involves getting himself incarcerated in Fox River and smuggling the prison's blueprints by having them hidden in tattoos that cover his entire torso. Once inside, Michael must form alliances with a rogue's gallery of felons with their own sometimes unsavory motives. Meanwhile, on the outside, Lincoln's lawyer and one-time girlfriend Veronica Donovan (Robin Tunney), pursued by Secret Service agents, attempts to unravel the conspiracy that sent her man to the slammer.

Prison Break is anchored by tight, suspenseful writing clearly relished by the largely little-known cast. Standouts include Robert Knepper as the murderer/pedophile T-Bag, who somehow makes such a despicable character likeable. Stacey Keach of Mike Hammer fame plays the warden-with-a-heart-of-gold, who clashes with Captain Brad Bellick (Wade Williams) over whether to rehabilitate the inmates or makes their lives more miserable. Peter Stormare, famous for his skills with a wood chipper in Fargo, turns in a deliciously menacing performance as mob boss John Abruzzi, while Amaury Nolasco's winsome Fernando Sucre shares a cell and secrets with Miller's Scofield. Watching the show one gets a sense that this is the opening salvo of Wentworth Miller's career, which will doubtless include roles as assassins, detectives, super heroes, and perhaps the champion of staring contests. Midway through the season it's explained that Scofield is a genius with an heightened sensitivity to other peoples' suffering, which sums up what makes the show so great--the mind-bendingly intricate plot is a framework for moments when people make others suffer and cope with the burden of their own suffering.

The six-disc set includes 22 addictive episodes, audio commentary on selected episodes, three featurettes, and alternate and deleted scenes. As with most TV shows on DVD, the "previously on Prison Break" intros can get tiresome, but that's what the fast forward button is for. --Ryan Boudinot

Show as Prison Break, Heroes, Lost, the old X-Files are, in large measure, to consider how many of us perceive the world around us in these uncertain times and difficult:

- Controlled most of our lives affected or even high-ranking individuals or organizations that now have the opportunity to realize their programs
- Things are seldom what they seem, because the hidden forces are at work
- Only a few insiders understand fully andControl and set the agenda for all the control bodies
- We consider ourselves lucky if we can find out who it is and how it is changing our world, but we can never know why
- Force This hidden and mysterious, the plan as "action, and act globally

The "Season 1" Michael Scowfield is so guilty that he be put in prison so that he fled his brother, help (wrongly) on death row, too. Sounds too complicated? Itnot because it is. While working on the run, Michael, a control freak and a genius, interacts with a dozen prisoners from the middle characters level mafia types, the wrongfully convicted, the unfortunate, the mentally ill, really sadistic, vicious murderess. And there is the outside world. He has friends who help him and his brother has some very powerful enemies - how does it look like the President of the United States, when one thinks of the enemy? Well ... is by far the most powerful, becauseThere is this mysterious "company" I do not know exactly what you are trying to an agenda that we are not aware of implementation will be monitored (see paragraphs before this review) for further clarification.

This is a great series, really, my favorite in general and the Blu-ray version takes advantage of higher screen resolution. I do not think that there is Gee Whiz, Blu-ray special services on this package, but I do not know much anyway for further treatment. I'm just glad to actually seeshow in high definition.

We have seasons 1, 2-3 already, and we look forward to the forthcoming season 4 release - sorry, there is too much excitement for me to see this on television, one hours a week at a time.

Playtime- Criterion Collection [Blu-ray]

Playtime- Criterion Collection [Blu-ray] Feature

  • PLAYTIME BLU-RAY (BLU-RAY DISC)

Playtime- Criterion Collection [Blu-ray] Overview

Jacques Tati's gloriously choreographed, nearly wordless comedies about confusion in the age of technology reached their creative apex with Playtime. For this monumental achievement, a nearly three-year-long, bank-breaking production, Tati again thrust the endearingly clumsy, resolutely old-fashioned Monsieur Hulot, along with a host of other lost souls, into a bafflingtly modernist Paris. With every inch of its superwide frame crammed with hilarity and inventiveness, Playtime is a lasting testament to a modern age tiptoeing on the edge of oblivion.

Playtime- Criterion Collection [Blu-ray] Specifications

There's never been, and never will be, another comedy like Playtime. Three years in the making, French comedy master Jacques Tati's 1967 classic was an epic, experimental undertaking of unprecedented scale: Requiring the lavish construction of three entire city blocks of ultra-modern buildings, it was the most expensive French film up to that time, financially ruined its creator, baffled many viewers and critics when it was finally released after numerous delays, and is now regarded as Tati's undisputed masterpiece. Once again, Tati plays his comedic alter ego, the hapless M. Hulot (first seen in 1953's Mr. Hulot's Holiday), seen here as a befuddled pawn on a gigantic chessboard (metaphorically speaking) of modern conformity. He's simply trying to get to an appointment, but in the film's astonishing mock-Parisian landscape of antiseptic steel, glass, and plastic, Tati's resonant theme of contemporary confusion is fully expressed through meticulous use of framing and space--so effectively, in fact, that critic Jonathan Rosenbaum (in an accompanying essay) suggests that the film's dazzling "Royal Garden" sequence "may be the most formidable example of mise-en-scène in the history of cinema." With M. Hulot taking a back-seat to the film's breathtaking accumulation of visual details, Playtime (or, if you prefer, Play Time) rewards multiple viewings, revealing something new every time in its widescreen canvas of subtle gags and delirious eccentricity. Although journalist Art Buchwald provided English dialogue for the film, Playtime bears closer kinship to silent comedy, with universal humor and a musical soundtrack that's as essential as any of the visuals. Tati (1908-1982) never recovered from the film's financial failure, but happily, he lived long enough to see Playtime receive its much-deserved critical re-appraisal. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews

The theme of man trying to deal with an impersonal and soulless modern world is not new, but the approach with "Playtime" is unmistakable. There is no real dialogue, but only heard fragments of conversation. There's a plot or a story, and done nothing substantial. The best descriptions refer to the silent era, because the humor is all visual, physical and very demanding. I can not think of another movie where almost every shot is so complex designed andconstructed.

One of the most common sign Monsieur Hulot, played by the director. He is a long Paris legs of the pants that go above the ankles. His awkward appearance and mannerisms are a perfect foil for the brilliance and technology have surpassed his beloved Paris. His world is made of chrome, brushed aluminum, linoleum, endless, ranging from floor to ceiling windows. The screen is intentionally generic "modern" dominated structures, square, cubeand rectangles, spread horizontally or vertically stacked. The never-ending cascade of glass sheets and ensure that the human remains on display, especially in difficult times. The artificial environment helps to remember that we are not so far away from hunters and gatherers, and the world, we've created, it is rarely a logical consequence.

This long-planned for production is another masterpiece by French director Jacques Tati. Went disastrously budget puts large buildings, including a performanceAppendix to keep everything running. While nearly three years of production was the massive structure, known both affectionately and derisively as "Tativille. I am ready to bet that affects at least at an abstract level," Playtime, "Terry Gilliam to make the way of" Brazil ". Playtime is a stimulating observations romp to stick with a bit 'of irony to the bottom of the shoe like a piece of toilet paper.

Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side [Blu-ray]

Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side [Blu-ray] Overview

The story of The Empire Strikes Back is retold. Darth Vader (Stewie) is hunting the rebel Luke Skywalker (Chris) and his troops relentlessly across the galaxy. On the ice planet Hoth, Luke has a vision of his late mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Herbert), telling him to go to the Dagobah system to learn the ways of the Force under Jedi Master Yoda (Carl). Meanwhile Princess Leia (Lois) finds herself taking a shine to the scruffy pilot Han Solo (Peter) and, against all odds, the two soon fall in love. But an encounter with Han’s old friend Lando Calrissian (Mort) lands them in the clutches of the Empire. Envisioning this, Luke chooses to forgo his Jedi training to save his friends. It all comes to a head in a climactic confrontation with Darth Vader himself…

The Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, DarksideBlu-ray is presented in full screen 4x3 aspect ratio featuring English 5.1 Dolby Surround, Line 21, English for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, English, Spanish, and French stereo and subtitles.

Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side [Blu-ray] Specifications

Chris Griffin is right: when it comes to obsessive geekery and mining absurdity from the minutiae of the Star Wars universe, the comic force is stronger with Robot Chicken. But Family Guy strikes back with the second episode in its goof on the original holy trilogy. The animation is more impressive than the jokes, which are scattered all over the galaxy--the good (an Empire recruitment film), the bad (Yoda's teachings revolve around guy-movie trivia), and the ugly (wholly gratuitous--and here unbleeped--F-bombs). Devoted viewers will catch in-jokes inside of other in-jokes (this program takes its title from the season 5 episode "Barely Legal," in which the Emperor discovers the formula for great Star Wars dialogue). There is some interesting stunt casting with nebbish Mort Goldman as Lando Calrissian and the Giant Chicken as Boba Fett. James Caan cameos, as does, sorta, Tom Selleck. And Meg is once again reduced to embodying a hideous space creature, although at least she gets a line of dialogue. The DVD and Blu-ray editions contain metachlorine-rich extra features, including lively (and at times slanderous) audio commentary by Seth MacFarlane, Seth Green, writer Kirker Butler, director Dominic Polcino, and others; optional trivia pop-ups; and a table read of the Something, Something script. There is also a sneak-preview table read of the next installment, We Have a Bad Feeling About This. If I were an Ewok, I'd be worried, or on the phone to a lawyer. --Donald Liebenson

Customer Reviews

After the success of Family Guy's retelling of Star Wars animated special Blue Harvest, was only a matter of time before he told his own version of The Empire Strikes Back. Time's Up and the version of Family Guy is here with Something Something Dark Side. Currently, this is not an episode time is still on the air and at this time is to know only on DVD and Blu-ray (but we all know Seth MacFarlane is just so great to play like a money machine, and the episode of George Lucaswas) on television or cable at some point.

The story begins as the Blue Harvest has the power to go with Peter Griffin and turns entertaining the family, continuing the story of Star Wars, but with some special Family Guy. Darth Vader (Stewie) using the full control over the kingdom to find the Rebel Alliance, and dry them once and for all. Luke (Chris) wants a Jedi, and Han (Peter) and Leia (Lois), Chewie (Brian) and C-3PO (Quagmire), trying to escape the empireFinally, to flee to Cloud City to visit with Han old friend Lando (Mort Goldman) a.

Something Something Dark Side does a good job to stay true to the Star Wars saga and the continuation of the story begun in "Blue Harvest, while Smashing various typical Family Guy-pop culture references and humor. Just as The Empire Strikes Back and a film better than Star Wars, was something DARK SIDE something better than Blue Harvest. Blue Harvest is approximately 8Minutes shorter DARK SIDE something something, but there are times when "Blue Harvest, where the plot drags a bit. 'This does not mean to do Something Something Dark Side, moving quickly from one scene to another, not will stop the jokes and the story moves at a quick pace.

My favorite scene is the episode where Yoda is training Luke. The scene takes place as an assembly and intersect with the actual music and movies of the Russian boxer DragoTraining in Rocky IV The juxtaposition is hilarious.

The DVD extras include a commentary, a way to play the episode with pop-up data (and, unlike most DVDs with this feature you can actually fast forward through the sequence and still read the pop-up ) Sneak Peak of a table read, we feel bad about this (the 'Family Guy Return of the Jedi), and a featurette with creators of the poster DARK SIDE Something Something.

Overall,This DVD is something that appeals to both Family Guy "and" Star Wars "fans. It offers some have foul language, so parents be careful.

Lost: The Complete Second Season [Blu-ray] Overview

Lost is the ultimate TV series to experience in high definition with mind blowing 1080p picture and 5.1 uncompressed sound. The multiple Emmy Award winning drama reaches new heights in its spectacular second season as the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 discover they are not alone in their battle against the Others and a contested decision to open the hatch reveals a new realm of mystery and intrigue.

Bonus Feature Include: audio commentaries, Fire & Water: Anatomy of an episode, Lost on location, the world according to Sawyer, canine castaway, flashbacks, deleted scenes, bloopers, mysteries, theories, and conspiracies, secrets from the hatch

Lost: The Complete Second Season [Blu-ray] Specifications

What was in the Hatch? The cliffhanger from season one of Lost was answered in its opening sequences, only to launch into more questions as the season progressed. That's right: Just when you say "Ohhhhh," there comes another "What?" Thankfully, the show's producers sprinkle answers like tasty morsels throughout the season, ending with a whopper: What caused Oceanic Air Flight 815 to crash in the first place? As the show digs into more revelations about its inhabitant's pasts, it also devotes a good chunk to new characters (Hey, it's an island; you never know who you're going to run into.) First, there are the "Tailies," passengers from the back end of the plane who crashed on the other side of the island. Among them are the wise, God-fearing ex-drug lord Mr. Eko (standout Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje); devoted husband Bernard (Sam Anderson); psychiatrist Libby (Cynthia Watros, whose character has more than one hidden link to the other islanders); and ex-cop Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez), by far the most infuriating character on the show, despite how much the writers tried to incur sympathy with her flashback. Then there are the Others, first introduced when they kidnapped Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) at the end of season one. Brutal and calculating, their agenda only became more complex when one of them (played creepily by Michael Emerson) was held hostage in the hatch and, quite handily, plays mind games on everyone's already frayed nerves. The original cast continues to battle their own skeletons, most notably Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Michael (Harold Perrineau), whose obsession with finding Walt takes a dangerous turn. The love triangle between Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate (Evangeline Lilly) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway), which had stalled with Sawyer's departure, heats up again in the second half. Despite the bloating cast size (knocked down by a few by season's end) Lost still does what it does best: explores the psyche of people, about whom "my life is an open book" never applies, and cracks into the social dynamics of strangers thrust into Lord of the Flies-esque situations. Is it all a science experiment? A dream? A supernatural pocket in the universe? Likely, any theory will wind up on shaky ground by the season's conclusion. But hey, that's the fun of it. This show was made for DVD, and you can pause and slow-frame to your heart's content. Just try and keep that head-spinning to a minimum.---Ellen Kim

Some spoiler ***** If you still have not seen THE SEASON ******
Lost Season 2 had a lot to live up to Season 1 was a dynamic debut for a show that has captured my imagination go right from the start with the crash of the 'monster' through the jungle of "pilot" followed. But,for all the head of Season 2, simply does not always seem to get on track. There were some fights, pointless stories that do not add anything here, learning the history of the show. However, there were some upsides: we finally see the door, you meet new characters (Desmond, "Henry Gale", e) the Tailies, we get a vision of others, and some other questions with answers.

Personally, I would show them if I hated watching on TV. Fortunately, Ilost their way lately so I've seen on DVD (and now Blu-ray), so I will not wait weeks to see a new episode or switch repeats. So if you're off the show and gave up, try here. It also helps that looks damn good on Blu-ray. There are some areas where it is very grainy, but most of the time is looking great.

"Fire + Water: Anatomy of an Episode" (31:46)
To make a visual delight, an episode and how early some of the ideas. From the writer of the fire room design, this is a good way to see all the effort that goes into the smallest stage. I just wish they hadchose another episode to follow. "Fire and Water" is the worst episode of season 2, it seems puzzling.

"Lost: on location" (62:52
13 has a different look certain episodes. usually these are concentrated in a particular scene of an episode. Not the funniest, but production has a very feel-oriented. So, if you count learning about cameras and pictures together, as this is probably one of favorites.

"The World According to Sawyer" (4:31)
Saawyer and EmploymentSawyer said he spoke some classics and comments.

"The Lost Flashbacks" (3:25)
Only three flashacks here, none of which is worth. Also, this totally unnecessary.

"Deleted Scenes" (21:50)
19 Deleted Scenes. Much better absymal season 1 deleted scenes, but still nothing that they understand the scene or something out of the myth of the exhibition.

Lost Bloopers "(4:05)
Exactly what it seems.

A really great job here. Too bad there is only a minute, but it is still a fresh look at Lost in a way that I never thought it could have deducted (or). This is a beautiful piece.

"Lost Connections" (time)
A confused, difficult to navigate for the game that shows all connections between the characters. This could have big role Beena, but really screwed the presentation and functionality of it. Many people getfrustrated, and deactivate very quickly.

Mysteries, theories and conspiracies "(10:17)
Sounds interesting, but it is not true. I was glad to see, what secrets would be discussed, but that everything is covered, what do the fans and TV personalities. Very disappointing to say the least.

"Secrets of the Hatch" (15:47)
Another feature that has a big name and made me want to see, but soon I was disappointed (and many of the features here). Secretsthe Hatch ... What kind of dish. Everything that has to cover the production of the hatch, some elements in the hatch, and how they wanted to search. And 'interesting, but needs a different name.

The comments are give and take. "What Kate Did" is a terrible comment like Josh Holloway (in his first comment) does little to talk and Evangeline Lilly just giggling away. "Man of Science, Man of Faith" and "Psalm 23" are the best of the crowd, because Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse include (andJack Bender to "give a man of science") and the information really useful.

When you upgrade Lost Season 2 DVD may not be necessary to set this too. This is my is and I was a bit 'of what we have here disappointed with the Blu-ray Disc. Especially since the series came years after the DVD I thought it would apply their characteristics, but I was wrong. And for the love of God, where is the booklet? The DVD version has a brochure, but the Blu-Ray? Why? Now, fansthat, guess what '- or check out on-line - that the episodes are on what disc. Completely ridiculous. Feels a bit 'as a quick buck have in specificity, but the show is great (but so far the worst season of the first five) is.

9.2/10 "Outstanding"

I found in Costa Rica five times, because it is a beautiful country with friendly people. So I had this idea, it would remind me of the country. Well, there are scenes in nature, which seem to be in Costa Rica The images are so close you can not say where he was shot. A cascade of special seems to be the favorite, as it will appear again and again (at least three times). It also seems that the camera was set up in a small clearing and some birds were caught in flight over, becauseSeveral birds seen at different times in the production, but the setting is identical (), including design.
As I was there, I decided it would be a perfect DVD in the background to a dinner, open day or quiet evening playing at home. The details of the birds, frogs and wildlife are amazing.
Yes, I would buy it again.

The Bourne Trilogy (The Bourne Identity | The Bourne Supremacy | The Bourne Ultimatum) [Blu-ray]

The Bourne Trilogy (The Bourne Identity | The Bourne Supremacy | The Bourne Ultimatum) [Blu-ray] Overview

Studio: Uni Dist Corp. (mca) Release Date: 01/27/2009

The Bourne Trilogy (The Bourne Identity | The Bourne Supremacy | The Bourne Ultimatum) [Blu-ray] Specifications

The Bourne Identity
Freely adapted from Robert Ludlum's 1980 bestseller, The Bourne Identity starts fast and never slows down. The twisting plot revs up in Zurich, where amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), with no memory of his name, profession, or recent activities, recruits a penniless German traveler (Run Lola Run's Franka Potente) to assist in solving the puzzle of his missing identity. While his CIA superior (Chris Cooper) dispatches assassins to kill Bourne and thus cover up his failed mission, Bourne exercises his lethal training to leave a trail of bodies from Switzerland to Paris. Director Doug Liman (Go) infuses Ludlum's intricate plotting with a maverick's eye for character detail, matching breathtaking action with the humorous, thrill-seeking chemistry of Damon and Potente. Previously made as a 1988 TV movie starring Richard Chamberlain, The Bourne Identity benefits from the sharp talent of rising stars, offering intelligent, crowd-pleasing excitement from start to finish. --Jeff Shannon

The Bourne Supremacy
Good enough to suggest long-term franchise potential, The Bourne Supremacy is a thriller fans will appreciate for its well-crafted suspense, and for its triumph of competence over logic (or lack thereof). Picking up where The Bourne Identity left off, the action begins when CIA assassin and partial amnesiac Jason Bourne (a role reprised with efficient intensity by Matt Damon) is framed for a murder in Berlin, setting off a chain reaction of pursuits involving CIA handlers (led by Joan Allen and the duplicitous Brian Cox, with Julia Stiles returning from the previous film) and a shadowy Russian oil magnate. The fast-paced action hurtles from India to Berlin, Moscow, and Italy, and as he did with the critically acclaimed Bloody Sunday, director Paul Greengrass puts you right in the thick of it with split-second editing (too much of it, actually) and a knack for well-sustained tension. It doesn't all make sense, and bears little resemblance to Robert Ludlum's novel, but with Damon proving to be an appealingly unconventional action hero, there's plenty to look forward to. --Jeff Shannon

The Bourne Ultimatum
The often breathtaking, final installment in the Bourne trilogy finds the titular assassin with no memory closing in on his past, finally answering his own questions about his real identity and how he came to be a seemingly unstoppable killing machine. Matt Damon returns for another intensely physical performance as Jason Bourne, the rogue operative at war with the CIA, which made him who and what he is and managed to kill his girlfriend in the series' second film, The Bourne Supremacy. Now looking for payback, Bourne goes in search for the renegade chief of CIA operations in Europe and North Africa, partnering for a time with a mysterious woman from his past (Julia Stiles) and constantly--constantly--on the run from assassins, intelligence foot soldiers, and cops. Directed by Paul Greengrass (United 93) with the director’s thrilling, trademark textures and shaky, documentary style, The Bourne Ultimatum is largely a succession of action scenes that reveal a lot about the story’s characters while they’re under duress. Joan Allen, Albert Finney, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, and Paddy Considine comprise the film’s terrific supporting cast, and the well-traveled movie leads viewers through Turin, Madrid, Tangiers, Paris, London, and New York. Overall, this is a satisfying conclusion to Bourne’s exciting and protracted mystery. --Tom Keogh

Customer Reviews

The Bourne trilogy was something my husband wanted, but I thought I'd buy one at a time. I'm still pinching myself that I was capable of all three for the price I got. Hands down the best money I ever spent.

Each film is his masterpiece of action and suspense. Unlike most film sequel is now even better, and The Bourne Identity was excellent to begin with. The Bourne Ultimatum felt like a gift to fans, from beginning to end.

There are threeNights in a row and made a movie one night a night date.

I look forward to the opportunity to do it again.

Sex Drive (Unrated and Cream-Filled) [Blu-ray]

Sex Drive (Unrated and Cream-Filled) [Blu-ray] Overview

Studio: Uni Dist Corp. (summit) Release Date: 02/24/2009

Sex Drive (Unrated and Cream-Filled) [Blu-ray] Specifications

Sooner or later, the new breed of coming-of-age comedy (good ones like Superbad, not-so-good ones like College) had to inspire a parody of itself, and that self-conscious knock-off is the sporadically funny Sex Drive. A road movie about a virginal nice guy, Ian (John Zuckerman), who drives cross-country in his brother's car to score with a girl he met online, Sex Drive sounds like just another teen farce. But it isn't, exactly: with stops in a rockin' Amish community, in the redneck house of a bathroom fetishist, and in Ian's own family home (where a well-meaning new stepmother is continually exposed to Ian's unsavory private life), the film has an original life of its own. Casting counts for a lot in this movie. Clark Duke plays the likeable, over-confident nebbish we've come to expect since meeting McLovin' in Superbad, and Amanda Crew is Felicia, Ian's best friend and obvious romantic destiny (once these crazy kids figure that out). The three of them go traveling together in search of Ian's sure thing. But Sex Drive really becomes a much better comedy once Seth Green appears (as an Amish guy steeped in guilt-tripping sarcasm) and James Marsden (as Ian's bullying, homophobic brother) lets loose with a very funny performance. The two of them, really, have never been better on screen. There are a number of noteworthy scenes, particularly a chaotic climax that brings most of the characters together for an unexpected finish. Sex Drive, in some ways, is a more inspired movie than some of the ones it lampoons. --Tom Keogh

The best of all Manilow concert DVD

I have many, if not all of Barry's concert DVD and I think this concert is the best for these reasons:

1) He pulled out all the stops to achieve in his bank account, and put an orchestra to accompany him. The sound is much better than usual mechanical musicians who accompany him. Barry was obvious that this is a special night, would put in time on time, and I'm glad that he did not;

2) This was theIndividual concerts. In many concerts, the musicians play a song after a brief chat with some. Sometimes it's a bit 'predictable and tend to hide. But Barry has some background and some personal touches that will make sense of his life and career, and that experience has more depth.

For example, has an old 75 rpm records, when his grandfather tried to encourage him to sing "Happy Birthday" to his young cousin of one ofThe best recording booths in New York, when about 9 years. E 'was really nice, like the shy then Barry refused to sing. It seems Barry broke the love for music, and "This One's For You" was heartwarmingly dedicated to his grandfather;

3) the song list has been full and personal Manilow fans of hard core. There are everthing here: his greatest hits, as well as some of Broadway show songs, some Sinatra, some Latin Rhythmn (Copacabana). I do not know exactlyhow this type of songs, but Barry has his own unique style that makes it enjoyable for me. I'm sure this is one of the reasons why he was known as the greatest show in music.

I should have been agreed. His love of Broadway musicals, of course, has influenced his music writing, and you can feel the structure of his songs on the final resolution, as you would see the creation of a game for a resolution of the third act. Until the end, it also proposesLoans and jumps to his feet with a thunderous applause from the third act climax.

On another occasion we found, Barry's love for the strange musical instruments. Has some funny piece with an accordion and another strange sound of the instrument. E 'was good for some comic, while bopping along with some silly, but catchy melodies.

What I appreciated his including his lesser known but more personal songs like the gorgeous "When October Goes" and "I Am Your Child".This type of songs are included in the rule is no longer in his concerts for commercial recreational players and fans are happy that they are included here. His music is as it is for lovers, not fighters unique, and I'm glad he gave us a bit 'happier this time around us. It was not always the case.

In late 1970, when I was in high school, Barry, and then the "Sensitive Male", represented by men like Alan Alda and Phil Donahue was. Around the end of 1980, ourThe company began to change and focus more on "Gordon Gekko" type of person, who caused a major setback for the sensitivity. Alan Alda, finally started shameful role. Can not find Donahue, another concert anywhere, while Jerry Springer flourished. And the Chicago White Sox hosted an evening where they burned Manilow albums in their stadium during a game. It 'was like a book burning of Hitler.

Manilow has admitted that he went into hiding and then do the treatment in this periodwith all the negativity. Who can blame him - first that loved him and hated. People who have an aversion to fantasy Manilow feel this way because they are unsure of their masculinity. It makes them feel more like men to say: "I am a fighter, not a lover," as if their heroes bite the heads of bats on stage. This is definitely cause for all its successes, the only one who was a Grammy-winning "Copacabana" - a song that would not come near the dangerous waters of intimacy.

Ialways stuck with Manilow and his music in all these lean years, and I'm glad he did justice to his loyal fans on the other side of being. Yes, Barry, was not theirs. Manilow is probably the only artist out there, we can be a night of class, elegance and romance of the heart, if we seriously need it. And Barry - if they are ever in San Francisco, drop me a line so Ted can say head, thanked him with a great 5-speed, 5 - star dinner!
